Drugstore Makeup look

Hi guys,

I’ve found it really hard to write a blog post this weekend as I’m just not feeling myself. I tried to take the pictures for this yesterday but just felt self-conscious even though I was wearing all the makeup I usually would. But anyway… I’ve finally got everything together and I’m now excited to show you a Drugstore makeup looking using some of my favourite products.  Before I start just gonna make it clear that the way I do my makeup is simply the way I like it. If you prefer other looks or techniques that’s cool, I’m just doing it the way I like.

Everything I’ve used today:

  • Collection Pore Minimiser Primer £4.99 (Superdrug)
  • Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening concealer £4.99 (Superdrug)
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19 (Superdrug)
  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation £5.99 (Superdrug)
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder £3.99 (Superdrug)
  • I Heart Makeup Naked Chocolate Pallet £7.99 (Superdrug)
  • Collection Eyebrow Kit £3.99 (Superdrug)
  • MUA eyebrow pencil £1.00 (Superdrug)
  • Collection Contour Kit Highlight & Sculpt £4.19 (Superdrug)
  • Revolution powder blush Shade: Love £1.00 (Superdrug)
  • I Heart Makeup Goddess of love Highlight £4.99 (Superdrug)
  • Maybelline Lip Gloss Vivid Matte Shade: 05 Nude Flush & 50 Nude Thrill (Superdrug)
  • Maybelline Great Lash Mascara £4.99

I started out by rubbing some of the Collection Pore Minimiser Primer into my skin to give my face a matte finish, this product is great at making your skin matte but I don’t think it helps keep my makeup on any longer. Then I covered my blemishes and darkness with the collection lasting perfection concealer – everyone is in love with this product I’m not even going to say anything about this one. The Collection Illuminating touch brightening concealer is a new product I’m trying out but so far I’m quite enjoying it. I blend both these concealers with a L’OReal beauty blender. The final stages of my base makeup is applying my Maybelline Fit Me foundation and Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – both these products help to maintain a matte finish to my skin. I use a Real Techniques buffing brush to blend in foundation (which is very watery so defiantly avoid if you don’t like that) and a Kabuki brush from New Look to pat on some powder (again this is a cult favourite some I’m not going to say to much about that.

Next, after my base is set I like to move on to eyebrows and eyes. I have awful eyebrows and am terrified of making them look like slugs so I just run a spooly through them and then carefully create a shape with the MUA pencil before filling them in with powder from collection. Now its time for eyeshadow, my favourite!  (At the bottom I’ll put a picture of the pallet with the colours labelled so I can easily explain what I’m using) I start by taking the Matte shade “Smoothly” and running it all over the lid and up to my brows. For my crease shade a took the Matte shade “Sweet Shop” and just slowly built up the colour to make a more 3D look. Using a flat brush I packed on some shimmery “Mocha Lover” and then finished the look by highlighting my inner corners with “Adorable” I also highlighted my brow bone with the same shade.

Cheeks time! I actually have no idea what your supposed to do with contour but I just take some on an angle brush on my pouting face and pop it along my cheek bones! Perfect – Contour complete 👍. I then pop on a little blush to add some colour – the pigmentation from this £1.oo blush is insane so go slowly! Highlight is something I’ve recently been loving and so using the I Heart Makeup highlight I just sweep some over the top of my cheek bones to give them some glow. I’ve also been liking to look of a highlighted cupids bow so I decided to do that aswell.

To finish the look I just wipe on some Liquid lipstick by Maybelline in the colours Nude Flush and Nude Thrill and apply some Maybelline Mascara to add volume and length to my lashes.

And VOILA! Drugstore Makeup Look complete. 💋💋

Charliestar xoxo
