All-in-one Face Base – The Body Shop

I feel like its been ages since I’ve shared a product review on my blog – it’s been like 8 days but still! As always pictures of this product will be at the bottom so scroll down if you want to see them straight away. 😊

Lets get into this!

I had this product when I was first starting with makeup, we’re talking Year 8, 12 year old Charlotte. I remember using is a lot and repurchasing it at least twice! Unfortunately I hadn’t kept it so I have know idea if I still like it. That’s why when I was in London I decided to get colour matched and buy a new one.

First Impressions:

The packaging of a product is really important to me, not in terms of how it looks but its practicality. I love it when products are compact and come with a mirror, so this is exactly what I’m looking for in a product. It comes in a fairly compact case, has a mirror and an application sponge this is all super handy for travelling or touching up my makeup at work. This doesn’t apply for all and is only a limited time thing but there’s currently 30% student discount across the whole of The Body Shop so I was able to pick this up for just Β£10 which is a great price for quality makeup like this.

Using the product:

Before I put on this product I used my Collection prime and ready matifying primer and my Collection lasting perfection concealer. This helps to prep my skin for more makeup and is my attempt at covering the horrible acne I have at the moment. I then applied The Body Shop powder using the sponge that it came with. So far I’m super impressed with the product, it evens out my skin tone incredibly, doesn’t look cakey with the other product I regularly use and it adds a nice amount of coverage. In face I’d even go as far to say this is a medium coverage product, I used it alone on the day I was dropping Haydn at the coach station – I didn’t want full makeup but also didn’t want to look like tramp – it perfectly covered up the redness from my blemishes. Although I haven’t warn this product for more than 4 hours so far its kept the shine away well and hasn’t gone patchy.

Overall Opinion:

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It’s pretty safe to say I’ve re-fallen for this product and am totally enjoying it. The colour spectrum isn’t great so you super pale girls and darker girls might struggle to find a colour that works for you. However for me the shade is perfect, the powder helps to give a healthy look to my skin, adds coverage and makes my skin look super smooth. I will defiantly be using this product regularly, especially when I go back to school and I need something quick & easy to throw on.

I’ll visit their website to see if I can find anything about this powder’s finish ! But my foundation already has a matte finish so it shouldn’t be a problem anyway:)
