Full Face Makeup || June 2017

Hey Guys,

I hope you’re doing well? Seeing as the month is nearly over I thought I’d share with you the makeup look I’ve been loving for this month. I’ll be honest the day I took these photos my eyeliner and eyeshadow had gone awful so let’s just try to ignore that… Another key thing to add is that mostly all of these products are drugstore which is great!

Base Makeup:

Base Makeup June 2017

I feel like my base makeup never changes much as I like to stick with what I know works well for me.

I rarely use primer as I don’t think it makes much different (I’ve tired high-end primers too and still feel the same way) but for the purposes of this being a full face of makeup I’ve included the Collection primer and ready mattifying primer. This primer costs £4.99 and is a silicon base; I find it to be very smoothing. I’m not sure if oily skin types would enjoy this primer despite the fact that it is mattifying.

Next up is my cult classic concealer Lasting Perfection by Collection, sold for £4.19. This is an incredible concealer that covers everything. The colour choices are pretty poor with there being only 4 shades and I do find that they oxidize just a little bit. If you can find one in your shade then you’ll probably LOVE this. Since I started using it over a year ago I’ve never used anything else.

For foundation I’m a medium to light coverage kinda girl as I think full coverage is too thick for the summer time. For that reason I use the Maybelline Fit Me (Matte and Poreless) foundation. It’s £6.99 from Superdrug and is honestly just the perfect matte foundation. There is a huge colour range, it blends well, it isn’t cakey and it’s also buildable if you do want more coverage.

Finally I set my base makeup with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – another cult classic… I’m easily persuaded into buying makeup okay. The prices of this can vary but from Superdrug it’s usually about £3.99. This actually has some coverage and is very matte which is why it’s my go too. I use this over the top of any foundation and it never looks cakey.

Eye Makeup:

Eye Makeup

As I mentioned in the intro the eye makeup I have done in the pictures is really not my best work, I’m so disappointed that the images don’t look good.

Firstly, I like to fill in my brows with the Revolution brow pomade (£6). This is a fairly new way of filling in my brows as previously I’d only use powder. I like this one as the colour is very cool toned so suits my brows well and it’s so long lasting – maybe also water resistant too.

The Tarte Tease palette is my only high end eyeshadows but honestly I can see why it’s worth it for £18. The colours just look so good! My favourite shades are Whisper, First Kiss, Heartbreaker and Crush. I have a more in-depth review on this product here on my blog so go check it out if you’re interested. (TARTE PALETTE REVIEW)

I’ve also recently been getting into eyeliner looks so my purchase of the Supercat eyeliner from Soap & Glory had to make an appearance in this post. It goes on so smoothly, is black and I just find it really easy to work with. It’s especially great as it only costs £6 from Boots.

To finish off my eye makeup look I’ve been using the Benefit They’re real mascara and tinted primer. I usually use the Benefit Roller Lash mascara but lately I’ve been loving this just a little bit more. I received these little mini samples in my May Birchbox so they were technically free. However, if you were wanting to try this out you could pick up the minis from Benefit for £10.50 which is basically drugstore price and they last ages. Using the primer and then the mascara does make the lashes that extra bit voluminous but you could definitely achieve this look with just the mascara.

Wasn’t 100% sure what too call this category as it’s just highlight, blush and lipstick. Although, this is probably my favourite part.

For blush I use the Benefit rockateur product, it’s a little pricey at £24.50 but I love the colour so much that I try to look past that. For me it’s the perfect amount of pink with darker undertones making it not clown like or OTT.

Highlight is my FAVOURITE product rn. I’m between a natural look and a blinding look I would say, most days I go for blinding becuase it just looks cool honestly. The Lottie London Shimmer Squad is the quad palette I’ve been loving in particular the shade Queen Bee. I’ve done a full review on the product so feel free to check it out here.

To finish of the look I’ve been loving the Revolution Liquid Lipstick Kit in the shade Echelon. This matte lip kit was actually something I hated at first but now I love it! I don’t use the lip liner but the liquid lipstick is amazing. So pigmented however it is a little drying but to much to handle.

Here’s the looks I’ve been creating (this is a pretty poor example but I didn’t have time to re-do it before I had to upload this…):

I hope you guys enjoyed this little insight into my makeup bag. I might make this a monthly post so you can stay updated with the looks I’ve been loving. What’d you think? Leave me a comment below telling me your favourite makeup products! My next post will be on Wednesday as I’ve changed my upload schedule so I’ll see you all then.
