Hey Guys,
I hope you’re doing well? I know my post is a day late but I decided to save this one until I was pack in Bournemouth so I could photograph it properly. The New-Trals vs Neutrals palette by Revolution has been out for a while now; I finally decided to pick it up after hearing that it’s an almost dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. I won’t be comparing the two palette’s in this post however I’m thinking of that for a future post. Today I’m going to review the palette in it’s own rights so you can see what I think of it. Let’s get into this!
First of I’m obsessed with the packaging! The palette has a massive mirror, which makes it super handy to travel with. There are 16 pans that have a nice array of warm tone’s with both matte and shimmer finishes. Another thing worth mentioning is that the palette comes with a double ended brush which is actually usable, theirs a mini blending brush and a small flat brush – definitely an upgrade from the usual sponge applicators you get in this kind of palette. I picked this beauty up from Superdrug for just £6.99! That means each colour is roughly just 44p, what?!
The colours in the palette are as follows:
Top Row, left to right: Bias (shimmer), Neutral (matte), Personal (shimmer), Vogue (Matte), Trend (matte), New-tral (matte), Tone (matte) and Custom (shimmer)
Bottom Row, left to right: Cool (matte), Style (shimmer), Partial (shimmer), Mode (shimmer), Adapt (matte), Buff (shimmer), Suit (shimmer) and Strong (shimmer)
I’m absolutely living for the shades Vogue, New-Tral and Tone. If I’m being honest These 3 colours alone sold the palette to me as they’re quite similar to berry tones in the ABH palette.
I’m actually awful at showing of swatches but I’ve tried my best. Just know that these shades are very pigmented and feel very soft. I haven’t found there to be much fall out around the eye or in the pans either. Of course with any eyeshadow there is some fall out but I don’t mind, if the shades are too compressed and I feel like I’m really digging my brush in then I just don’t enjoy using the palette. For me it’s the perfect amount.
Overall I’m so impressed by this palette. I love the design, colour scheme and formula of this product. Revolution have done an insane job on creating this palette, I seriously recommend it. Especially if you’re looking for a drugstore alternative to the ABH Modern Renaissance palette.
Have you tried out this palette before? Let me know what you thought of it below! I’d also love to know what your favourite drugstore eyeshadow brand is, so please chat with me in the comments.
The shades look very pretty! I’m thinking of getting this ^^

This looks like a nice palette! It’s good to know that its similar to the ABH modern renaissance, I haven’t been able to splurge on that one yet! Also that Follow You Dreams tray is the cutest!! Love it! xx Cleia
