New Makeup || September 2017

Hey Guys,

I hope you’re doing well? Going back to 6th Form means that I’ve now got a few extra things to balance … But of course this hasn’t kept me away from the shops, so today let’s talk about some new products I’ve recently purchased. I’ll be doing reviews on some products but not all so if there’s anything you want more details on let me know!

The first thing I have to mention is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss! This was actually very kindly gifted to me from on of my best friends Jess. She picked it up whilst over in America so I’m not 100% on the price she paid but online its $16. I have the shade metallic rose, it’s gorgeous. I’ve been wearing mattes so much that my lips pretty much always feel try so this is definitely a nice change for me. Another great thing about this product is that whilst it is classed as a metallic shade it’s actually very wearable.

Now moving onto the stuff I’ve brought myself. If you live in the UK (or maybe everywhere does this) then you’ll probably know that Superdrug regularly do a 3 for 2 offer across all of the makeup lines they stock. Obviously I have to take full advantage of this offer so I’ve picked up 6 new things to share with you all.

We’ll start with the eyeshadow palettes. I picked up the Revolution New-Trals vs Neutrals palette and have fallen completely in love with it. I’ve been gushing about it so much over on my Instagram (@charliestarblogs) and uploaded a review on here at the start of the week. It’s just gorgeous what else can I say; it’s especially attractive for £6.99. After picking up this palette, on my next trip I had to pick up the Iconic Pro palette which has the same packaging as the New-Trals vs Neutrals palette. This version is a little bit cheaper though at only £6 which is amazing for 16 shades. I haven’t had a chance to play around with this one yet, however if the quality is the same I’m going to love it.

Onto lips, I thought I’d grab another Revolution Lip Kit because I ended up really liking the first one I tried despite my really negative review. I guess the product just grew on me. This time I picked up the shade Noble as I think it’ll make a really nice autumnal everyday colour. I think these kits are really good value for money (£6 each) and would recommend you give one a go if you haven’t already. The shade range in the mattes isn’t great but I’m sure you’ll be able to find one you like. Keeping along the mattes theme I thought I’d try out a liquid lipstick from Rimmel as I haven’t previously. I chose the Stay Matte Liquid lipstick in shade 700 ‘Be My Baby’. This product was £5.99 so the same price as my beloved Body Shop and NYX matte liquid lipsticks – It’s got some pretty high standards to live up to. I’m undecided about whether to post a full review on this so let me know in the comments if you’d like one.

This is definitely the most boring product I picked up. Although you might find it interesting. My friends have pointed out that my eyebrows would better suit a darker pomade. I have the worst eyebrows, it’s okay don’t feel the need to point it out. I know that SophDoesNails one of my favourite YouTubers uses the Freedom pomade so I picked up one in the shade Dark Brown. I hoping that this £5 product can fix my eyebrow issues.

I got two new highlights. Why two? Because I have no control. The first one is Th Balm Mary Lou-Manizer for £19.99, this is the first high end makeup I’ve brought myself so I’m pretty excited by it. Although The Balm is sold in some Superdrugs it doesn’t get included in the 3 for 2 deals but I’ve been wanting it for ages so decided to pick it up anyway. I’ve already posted a review for this product so feel free to give that a read here! The other highlighter was no where near as sensible but I saw the pretty colours and it called me. Yes I brought the I Heart Makeup, Unicorn Rainbow Heart. I’m not even sorry. I will never wear this. It’s beautiful and for £6.99 I thought it was time to add something different to my makeup collection. I mean I’m sure I’ll find a use for this eventually…

I hope you guys liked this little insight to what I’ve been buying. I’m sure as the season changes I’ll be grabbing some more products – season change is a good excuse – so look out for more little hauls from me!
