I hope you’re doing well? I was going to do a ‘what I got for Christmas’ cliche kinda post, but I’m actually sick of seeing them all over YouTube… So rather than adding to the ciaos I thought I’d do a different version of this post. Rather than tell you all the things I got, which you’re only a maximum of 40% interested in, I decided it’d be more beneficial to show of the products that I’ll be reviewing over the next few week. These are gifts I received for Christmas, plus a little something I brought myself. I thought this might be a more interesting way of doing it, let me know what you think!
I was spoilt this year – which I’m not complaining about at all – and I was lucky enough to be treated to both the High-End eyeshadow palettes I’ve been gushing over for months.
From my Dad and Step-mum I recived the Two Faced Sweet Peach palette. Look At It!
Don’t even try and tell me it’s not fricking pretty because honestly it’s stolen my heart. Although that doesn’t mean quality, longevity and usability will live up to this initial love. Of course I’ll be sharing with you my thoughts on that very soon. However if you do follow me on Instagram (my feed is ugly, sorry) @charliestarblogs then you’ll have already seen the look I created with it for Christmas day which I was obsessed.
Also from my Dad and Step-mum I got the Soph X Makeup Revolution highlighting palette. I wanted this when it first got released but wasn’t sure on the shades. But now I’ve got one to try for myself so we’ll see how it goes.
If you read my Top Rated Products of 2017 you might remember that I haven’t found a highlighter I LOVE yet so maybe this will be it.
Moving on to the makeup my Mum got for me now. I was absolutely ecstatic when I unwrapped the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette. I keep saying the word love but for this one it’s just needed.
There have been so many times when I’ve nearly brought this beauty for myself. But, still being in school means I don’t really have the money and even though I think it’s worth it I just couldn’t justify it. So now I own this I’m thrilled and very very excited to play with the shades. Of course, I’ll have a review up soon – even though there are about a million already.
Another cult classic I was treated to is the MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick. I feel like everyone in the beauty community enjoys this product. I love the formula from my other one MEHR so I already know this will be a winner.
The shade is just perfect let’s be honest. The packaging and everything about this just screams quality and so I’m welcoming this into my collection with open arms.
I wanted to mention this product because I think it’s awesome, however… I’m not sure I’ll do a review on it.
I don’t have long, beautiful nails and I’m not at all skilled when it comes to painting my nails. For that reason I think it might be better to appreciate how magical the shades are in the bottles rather than the mess I will definitely make with them on my nails.
Lastly, I thought I’d share with you something that I treated myself to. When I went shopping on Boxing Day my friend (shoutout to Arun) showed me the store Space NK. I had no idea it existed and was there but it sells a load of high-end makeup. They had a NARS stand and I couldn’t resist.
This is the Soft Matte Concealer. It’s supposed to be better for acne than the NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer – which I love. It was £24 so it better be good. I will definitely be going back to that store regularly.
There you have my little breakdown of a few products I recevied for Christmas and will be reviewing over the next few weeks. I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know if you thought this was a better idea than a ‘What I Got For Christmas’ style post.
