I hope you’re doing well? I’m sure loads of you already know about my long distance relationship (ldr) with Haydn but if not, I’ll link a few of my other related posts at the end in case you’re interested. But for now I wanted to recount all the visits we had during 2017 – and wow we were lucky to have so many. In total we had 16 – all of which I’m so grateful for! I thought I’d share a few pictures from each visit with you all – however this is mostly a little recount for me…
December 30th (2016) – January 2nd
Our Christmas/New Year visit. I love starting the year with Haydn and even though we didn’t do anything crazy it was still nice to be in each other’s company.
January 19th – January 22nd
I thought a little weekend in Leeds would be nice for the end of January. I’m lucky enough to finish school early most days (6th Form privileges) which makes it super easy to travel up north for a weekend together.
February 3rd – February 5th
I turned 17! Haydn took me for dinner at Wild Wood which is actually now one of my favourite restaurants.
February 11th – February 19th
Half term was so great as we were able to have a pretty long visit. We saw a movie in the new cinema and paid for the fancy reclining seats as well as going on many other little dates. However, we didn’t do anything for Valentines as we’re not really fans of that occasion.
March 3rd – March 5th
Another little weekend visit in Leeds. Specifically to go to the Lukas Graham concert Haydn had gotten me tickets from way back in October 2016.
March 16th – March 20th
I always remember this as a super fun visit. I don’t actually think we did a lot other than go for a countryside walk and enjoy a river picnic.
April 12th – April 16th
LONDON! For our first anniversary we spent two nights/three days exploring London together. For my birthday Haydn treated me to 4 experience tickets whilst we were in London – I chose Madame Taussauds, The London Eye, Shrek Adventures and the Aquarium (If you don’t know me personally – I’m obsessed with Sea Turtles). After London Haydn traveled back to my home town with me to celebrate Easter together.
May 27th – 3rd June
I suppose you could call this a double visit. Haydn came down to me for a few days and then we both went back up north together to enjoy even more time together. (P.s. Haydn hates the kissing photos in the strip but I think they’re super cute).
June 23rd – June 25th
This was a relaxing visit, Haydn took me on a Canal walk which I always enjoy and we went for a huge family meal with all of Haydn’s family… there’s 12 of us total – we needed a big table.
July 14th – July 16th
By far one of my favourite visits this year even if it was only short. We spent the night in Sheffield and got to see one of our favourite bands Catfish and the Bottlemen perform at the Don Valley Stadium. It was such a great night out and the atmosphere was amazing.
July 22nd – September 9th
Last summer was the greatest yet. We spent an unbeliveable amount of time together during which so many things happens. Haydn’s sisters graduation, Haydn turning 18 and getting his first car, my aunties wedding and so many Sunday adventures.
September 15th – September 17th
Back to school meant back to short weekend visits unfortunately… but obviously I’m grateful for all the time we spend together, even if we do just go for a river walk and take dumb photos.
October 21st – October 31st
I think this was arguably the best visit of 2017. We flew off on our first ever holiday together. We spent 5 days exploring the city of Prague in the Czech Republic. Besides being freezing, I had a really fun time and we got to see so many cool sites.
November 11th – November 12th
- This weekend we saw Scouting For Girls – I only have videos from this trip which I can’t upload onto my blog…
November 24th – November 26th
Having Haydn with my in Bournemouth always makes me so happy. During our last visit before Christmas we went to do our Christmas shopping together and for a home cooked meal with my family.
December 29th – January 2nd (2018)
And here we are back to the beginning of another year. Just as the year before we enjoyed a quite night in this New Years and just appreciated the time we had together. Plus we wore our Catfish band Tee’s together which makes me smile a lot.
So, there is a year of our LDR visits. Congratulations if you read all the way to the end although I guess this is a post that’s mostly for me to look back over and reminisce on.
