I hope you are doing well? It’s been a long time since I did a relationship related blog post and even longer since it was LDR related! As some of you might know Haydn and I closed the distance in 2018 after spending just over two years separated by 211 miles (doesn’t sound that far but since neither of us drove at the time this meant 8 hours of coach travel!). Haydn and I just celebrated our 4 year anniversary which feels like such a long time, especially considering how much has changed and how much we’ve experienced together over the last 1460 days – yup I did the maths.
Whilst we are now living as a “normal” couple I still look back fondly on our time as a long distance couple and can remember all the emotions that came with being separated from someone I loved so much. I liked to look through our memory boxes regularly (most of the time it ends up with me crying with happiness because I’m sensitive) and this got me thinking about how tough isolation will be for many couples around the world. When Survive LDR reached out and asked if I wanted to do a post in collaboration with them I of course said yes because I love supporting small businesses as well as bringing my readers products that will definitely be of interest to them.
Whilst we are all isolated and missing loved ones I can sympathise for LDR couples in particular as one of the key things that always made it easier for me was knowing when I would next be seeing Haydn and being able to count down the days. Whilst countries are being forced to lock down, borders are closed, flights have stopped and in many cases it’s almost impossible to get more than a few miles from home. Things are pretty crazy right now but love doesn’t have to be put on pause. There are so many things you could do for your LDR love that would put a smile on their face and remind them that this situation is temporary and soon you will be together again.
There’s where Survive LDR comes in (see, it all links…), with their adorable LDR related gifts you can find something to send to your partner no matter where they are your gift can get to them with worldwide shipping options at really affordable prices. Or treat yourself because I also totally advocate for self love!
On of the products I was sent is this adorable LDR mug with a really positive quote on the front. Waking up in the morning and pouring your coffee into this would definitely be a great way to start the day when you can’t be with you love. There are a wide variety of quotes to chose from and you can even pick the mug size so if you’re with a caffeine addict you can get them the bigger size to help soothe those cravings.
The other product that was sent to me is great because it can be used in such a versatile way. This cute LDR sticker can be used on a variety of surfaces, from laptops to notebooks to make them a little more you. Haydn and I kept a memory box with little trinkets from our time together during our LDR years and putting this sticker on top of the box would be such positive reminder.
Just like with the mugs here are a variety of quotes to choose from so you can pick one for your partner (or for yourself) that suits best.
Thank you guys so much for reading! Your continued support is so great, I’ve not been very active on here for quite a while now but I’m still here!
